George Lucas is hoping that he can tempt actor Sean Connery into reprising his role of Henry Jones in the next Indiana Jones adventure. Sean Connery has recently announced his retirement from acting, so this confrontation might prove interesting. Apparently Lucas is writing Sean Connery into the script “whether he wants to do it or not”.
“I would love him to be in the next Indiana Jones…maybe I can push him into it,” he told Access Hollywood. “We are writing him in whether he wants to do it or not.” George Lucas has told Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos he is pushing to get Sean Connery to appear in Indiana Jones 4. Lucas is producing the fourth movie in the franchise as Harrison Ford returns as the whip-cracking archaeologist, and the story apparently involves Indy’s father, Henry Jones. The former Bond actor received a standing ovation from the star-studded audience, which included ‘Star Wars’ creator George Lucas, as well as legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg and veteran actor Harrison Ford.

At Hollywood’s Kodak Theater Thursday, the American Film Institute honoredthe Oscar-winning actor with the Life Achievement Award. After being handed the award, Connery, who is hailed as one of the best Bonds ever, recounted his childhood before the audience and thanked his teachers for his success. Directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, and actors Andy Garcia, Harrison Ford and Mike Myers were among those who feted the Scottish star.
“I got my big break when I was five years old, and it’s taken more than 70 years to realize it. At five, I learned to read, and I would not be standing here without the books, plays and scripts,” he said.

Connery was as cool and composed as James Bond as he thanked the celebrity-studded crowd, but at times during the two-hour praisefest, he looked almost misty-eyed. A veteran of over 80 films, Connery was the recipient of a Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution To World Cinema. With the new award, he joins the A-list of previous winners that boasts of all-time greats like Alfred Hitchcock, Bette Davis, Clint Eastwood, Elizabeth Taylor, George Lucas, Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, and Steven Spielberg.
