Wannabe Rapper Federline Steals Show
Critics of Kevin Federline have been forced to eat their words after Britney Spears‘ husband performed his first live performance yesterday at the Teens’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles with an enthusiastic version of his single Lose Control — his first time performing on network television. A pregnant Britney delighted fans as she came on stage to introduce her ‘man’, who closed the show with an enthusiastic version of his song, Lose Control.
“This show has been very good to me and my career over the years. And I’m hoping that it will be as good to our next performer,” she said.
Bursting out of a baby doll dress, the singer said: ‘Please give a big welcome to my man, Kevin Federline,’ adding that the show had been good to her in the past and she hoped it would be as good to him.
In a loose white shirt and white hat, Kevin Federline prowled and jumped around the stage, surrounded by young dancers. He is expected to release his debut hip-hop album Playing With Fire in August. “I ain’t here to brag,” he rapped in a tough-guy style.
Before the show, when “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul was asked what advice she would give the new artist, she said, “Do what you gotta do and have fun.”
Hosts Jessica Simpson and comedian Dane Cook jump-started the broadcast, aired live on Fox from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, with riffs on nominees including Pirates of the Caribbean.
Other stars who stole the show include Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, as their latest film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s chest, scooped the action adventure and summer movie awards. Depp also won best male comedy actor while Bloom was named as the male hottie of the year.
