Desperate housewives star Marcia Cross is pregnant. The actress, who married stockbroker Tom Mahoney earlier this year, confirmed her pregnancy last night. The 44-year-old actress and stockbroker Tom, 48, got wed in June, and Marcia’s spokesman has confirmed their baby is due in April 2007.
Marcia’s publicist has confirmed that the baby is due in April next year, just after production on Season 3 of the series wraps.

The happy announcement comes just months after a friend of the actress claimed Marcia was so desperate to be a mum that she was considering adopting. The 44-year-old’s co-star and pal Eva Longoria has sent her congratulations to the couple, telling the press: “I could not be more happy for her.
“There is no greater blessing than a child. I’m so excited for her. She’s wanted this for a long time so I’m glad it’s happened.”
Meanwhile, Marcia recently revealed she hates filming steamy love scenes because she gets embarrassed stripping off in front of an entire TV crew.
She explained: “Sex scenes are embarrassing. One scene was particularly hard, but we didn’t shoot with our regular crew.
“I didn’t know any of them and that really helped me out.”

In 2005, Cross told USA Today: “I don’t like the average woman being misled into thinking that fertility is something that goes on forever,” said Cross.
“When a woman gets older, they get a donor egg, which doesn’t make the baby any less beautiful or perfect. One’s own eggs only last so long, and sometimes at 43 or 44 you can have your own baby, but statistically it’s very difficult and expensive. You don’t want to wait that long.”
