Kari Ann Peniche and 6 Days Engagement Story
18-year-old Aaron Carter has broken off his six-day engagement to his older brother Nick’s ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old former Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche just a week after he proposed onstage in Las Vegas, Harris said Monday.
“I got caught up in the moment and proposed,” the younger Carter told Us Weekly in a report on its Web site. Both brothers will appear in the reality series “House of Carters,” which debuts Oct. 2 on the E! network. E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest also reported Aaron’s comments about his engagement to Kari Ann Peniche being a “mistake.”
Kari Ann Peniche is an ex-girlfriend of Carter’s 26-year-old brother, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter. She’s also a former Miss Teen USA and former Playboy Playmate. Carter proposed to former Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche in Las Vegas after only knowing her for 5 days. Peniche previously dated Carter’s older brother, Nick.
A source close to Aaron, 18, revealed: “They are just going to be friends now. She still wants to keep dating him but Aaron is not quite sure. “He was trying to appease her but came to his senses and realized it was the wrong thing to do.”
“I made the mistake and she made a mistake too,” Carter said in his first on-camera interview since the news broke. “We both did.”
In the meantime, Aaron and Nick–and sisters Angel, Bobbie Jean and Leslie–will star in the reality show House of Carters.
