Mandy Moore No More American Dreamz
At the premiere of “American Dreamz” in Hollywood last night, once thing was perfectly obvious. Mandy Moore is no teen idol any more; she’s a poised, pretty 21-year-old who knows just where she’s going. Where? Straight to the top of the Hollywood heap, if she keeps picking films like “American Dreamz,” the Paul Weitz satire of the “American Idol” phenomenon, and roles like that of Sally Kendoo, the singer who will do anything to make it big. Moore insisted that going that far just isn’t in her nature; but it was sure fun to take on that ruthless persona for a little while.
She said, “I think it’s the fun and the challenge as an actress is to get a meaty part like this and sort of play against type. Sally is pretty far from who I am, so I definitely enjoyed it.” Read more!
