Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and her longtime boyfriend Peter Sarsgaard are engaged and expecting their first child according to a story in the latest issue of ‘People’ magazine. The couple have been together for more than four years.
The couple also made a film together in 2003 called ‘In God’s Hands.’ The low-budget film was produced by Steven Soderbergh but was never released.

Maggie Gyllenhaal has appeared in more than 20 films, including Secretary, Mona Lisa Smile and Donnie Darko, which starred her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal.
Peter Sarsgaard, 35, has also shared the screen with his fiancée’s brother – in last year’s war film Jarhead. Sarsgaard’s résumé includes Boys Don’t Cry, Kinsey and Shattered Glass, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination in 2004. Read more!

Before Maggie Gyllenhaal took a role in “World Trade Center,” she wanted to be okayed by the film’s subjects. The 28-year-old actress says she was ready to drop out of Oliver Stone’s upcoming “World Trade Center” film if the couple didn’t accept her explanation. “I wanted to tell them the absolute truth of what I meant,” Gyllenhaal told The New York Post of her visit to their home following her comments last year.

The movie, also starring Nicolas Cage, is based on the story of two Port Authority police officers, Jimeno and Sergeant John McLoughlin, who became trapped during rescue efforts after the collapse of the twin towers. Read more!
