Rapper Lil’ Kim Back Home From Prison

Rapper Lil Kim picRapper Lil’ Kim, the diminutive rapper known for her raunchy lyrics and sexually provocative attire, is now home from prison fter serving nearly 10 months for perjury and, in typical fashion. She was sent to prison for lying to a grand jury about a shootout outside a New York radio station and released more than two months early for good behavior.
Lil’ Kim — whose real name is Kimberly Jones — emerged from the jail looking glamorous wearing a low-cut white top and flashy sunglasses, the diminutive star clutched a bouquet of flowers as she greeted fans before stepping into a shiny Rolls Royce.

“There she come!” shouted a fan as Lil’ Kim — wearing sunglasses, a white outfit, and holding a bouquet of white roses and a mylar “Welcome Home” balloon — followed her entourage out of the Arch Street entrance and into the back seat of the Rolls, which has a base price of $350,000. Read more!

Eminem Divorce Proceeding Behind Closed Doors

Eminem DivorceEminem continued divorce proceedings with his wife, Kimberley Mathers, in a private hearing Thursday. Details of the meeting in Macomb County Circuit Court were not disclosed.
Kimberley Mathers, who is seeking financial support, attorney fees and joint custody of the couple’s 10-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, was seen being escorted out of the building by a sheriff’s deputy.
Her lawyer, Michael J. Smith, declined to comment. A message seeking comment was left Thursday with Eminem’s attorney, Harvey Hauer.

The 33-year-old rapper Eminem got remarried in January after announcing they were getting back together. Eminem filed for divorce 82 days later. Their first marriage lasted from 1999 to 2001. Read more!

Rapper Beanie Sigel Shot

Rapper Beanie SigelBeanie Sigel, the popular rapper who has been shadowed by his violent past, was wounded by gunfire during an attempted robbery early Thursday. Sigel was shot during what may have been a robbery attempt shortly after 8 a.m. EDT, AllHipHop.com reported. The apparent holdup was attempted by five males traveling in two cars, according to police. It was not clear where the shooting took place.

Sigel told police that five black men in two vehicles boxed him in and that a bearded man in jeans and boots opened fired, hitting the rapper once in his upper-right arm. Sigel’s wallet, watch and other items were taken. Read more!

50 Cent, Green Day And Lennox Win Songwriting

Rapper 50 Cent, singer Annie Lennox and Green Day have been honoured by a group of their songwriting peers. The hip hop superstar took home top honors at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ Pop Music Awards Monday night, where he was named Songwriter of the Year by a group of industry peers.
The awards, voted on by more than 700 songwriters, recording artists and industry leaders, were doled out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and in addition to Eminem’s protégé, also gave kudos to Green Day, Annie Lennox and Kelly Clarkson.
Green Day’s Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together - written by Johnta Austin, Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal - were joint winners of the Song Of The Year Award, while the punk trio also won the Creative Voice Award. Read more!

Busta Rhymes Issues On Bodyguard Shooting

Busta Rhymes has finally made a statement about the deadly shooting on the set of his video last Sunday that claimed the life of his 29-year-old bodyguard, Israel Ramirez. But despite pleas from the police to talk, Rhymes’ comment was about his friendship with Ramirez, not a statement to authorities.

“I have sent my condolences to the Ramirez family during this time,” Rhymes said in a statement issued by attorney Robert Kalina. Ramirez who was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest on the set of the video for Rhymes’ remix of his song “Touch It.” Read more!

Marsha Ambrosius Signs Solo Deal With Dr. Dre

Floetry Singer Marsha Ambrosius has signed a solo recording deal with hip-hop hitmaker Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records. Marsha thrilled at the chance to work with Dre, who has only worked on a few projects in recent years. “It’s not like he offers to do an album with everybody,” she said.

Actually the invitation to work with the rapper-producer came when Ambrosius and partner Natalie Stewart were performing two Floetry shows at The Roxy in Los Angeles last year. The audience included a number of other music makers, including Dre and Prince. Ambrosius ran into Dre later the same week, and when he played her a track she soon found herself in his studio, singing the vocal hook. The seeds for the Ambrosius solo project were sown. Eminem Ready for Marriage Rerun

A month after announcing they were attempting to reconcile a volatile coupling that originally ended in divorce in 2001, the rap superstar and Kimberly Mathers have filed for a marriage license in their native Macomb County, Michigan, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Kimberly Mathers–who has kept the surname of her former husband, identified on the application by his legal name of Marshall Mathers III–submitted the paperwork Monday afternoon at the county clerk’s office. The license was processed Tuesday and is expected to be picked up today. From that point, they will have 30 days to remarry. Read more!
